Sports Massage

Sports and soft tissue massage for rapid recovery

Sports massage is a technique that deals directly with the body’s soft tissue. The sports massage therapist utilizes deep tissue sports massage techniques combined with remedial massage techniques, which help with healing of injuries and improving movement. As well as its direct effect on the muscles, sports massage has also been shown to reduce heart rate and blood pressure, improve circulation and lymphatic flow, relive pain and speed up post injury recovery. Our chiropractors carry out our sports massage treatment for patients throughout the entire Warwickshire area including Coventry, Warwick, Leamington Spa and beyond.

Sports Massage can help with a wide range of problems

Many athletes choose sports massage to help with problems arising from over-use or repetitive strain from training and for their sport injuries, there is also an increasing trend towards preventative care as latest research also shows sports massage can help in the prevention of injuries too. Sports massage is therefore extremely useful for keeping you on track to achieving your goals and always on top of your game, whatever that may be! We serve the Coventry, Leamington Spa & Warwick areas with professional Sports Massage services.

Sports massage works by increasing blood supply to the tight muscles, this re-oxygenates the muscle and flushes out lactic acid whilst breaking down scar tissue. This is extremely effective and allows the muscle to then work at its full potential.

Our day to day lives cause significant and varying demands to be put on our bodies, one person may be sat at a computer desk all day, another may be training hard to become a world class athlete. For this reason our bodies will develop different types of problems that build up as a consequence of our selected lifestyle. Sports and remedial massage therefore, becomes just as relevant to an office worker struggling as a result of poor work ergonomics, as it is to an Olympic athlete suffering from a torn hamstring!

Whether you are based in Coventry, Leamington Spa, here at our sports injury clinic, our sports massage therapist will work to correct your sports injuries, chronic muscular pain or generalised stiffness from a hectic or stressful lifestyle.

On arrival our friendly staff at reception we welcome you, our sports massage therapist will promptly show you to our massage treatment room and you will be asked a few questions regarding any current injuries or problem areas, this is in order to build a picture of your current situation, assess your suitability for treatment, and determine which techniques are most appropriate for you.

You may be asked to undress to your underwear in a private room or just enough to uncover the problem area in order for our sports massage therapist to work. Some people find it more comfortable to wear shorts and a vest or t-shirt, and you will always be respectfully covered with a towel for your modesty. Your comfort is extremely important to us, so please inform us of any concerns you may have and we will always be happy to help.

We hope and look forward to see you soon! if you have any additional questions about the benefits of sports therapy massage and whether its rights for you, please don’t hesitate to contact us at our Warwickshire based office either by phone or via our contact page. We cover throughout Coventry, Leamington Spa, Warwick and beyond.

Can anyone have Sports Massage?

Sports massage is not always an appropriate treatment for everyone, for example if you have; open wounds, inflamed varicose veins, thrombosis, certain cancers, melanoma or haemophilia, it’s probably best to avoid deep tissue sports massage. If you suffer from infectious skin diseases (fungal infections or herpes for example) then sports massage will be unsuitable. Sports massage has the same effect as exercise which people who suffer from diabetes should be aware of.
