Dr. Cindy Townsend (nee Groocock) – Doctor of Chiropractic
Qualified from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic, one of the top Chiropractic training facilities in the world, having gained an Honours degree in Neuromusculoskeletal sciences and a Masters degree in Chiropractic Sciences. She has since gone on to complete post-graduate certificates in Clinical Management, Dry Needling (acupuncture), Muscle testing and numerous other soft tissue therapies. Cindy has also gained advanced qualifications and experience in Chiropractic Paediatrics and Chiropractic Pregnancy patient care.
Cindy co-founded the Kenilworth Chiropractic Clinic with her partner Dr Peter Townsend in 2007. Having grown up in the midlands and working previously for a number of years in Chiropractic clinics in Coventry and Nuneaton, Cindy had always been fond of Kenilworth and the surrounding areas and feels very at home.
Having decided that she wanted to become a chiropractor at just 14 years old, Cindy feels she has truly found her calling, and feels passionate and enthusiastic about chiropractic. She has especially enjoyed helping many top flight athletes, celebrities and other sports professionals and has been looking after the World Wrestling Entertainment team (WWE) for the past 8 years as their official European tour Chiropractor along with Peter.
Dr. Peter Townsend – Doctor of Chiropractic
Qualified from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic, one of the top chiropractic training facilities in the world, in 2002, having gained an Honours degree in Human science and a Masters degree in Chiropractic. Peter has since gone on to gain further qualifications in Dry Needling (acupuncture), Advanced rehabilitative techniques, Muscle testing and numerous soft tissue techniques. Outside of his normal practice, Peter also works as a post-graduate trainer for the college of Chiropractors, helping to provide advanced training for recently qualified Chiropractors, Having initially worked in private practice on the South coast for six years, Dr Peter Townsend cofounded Kenilworth Chiropractic Clinic with his partner Cindy Townsend.
Coming from a medical family, Peter decided to become a Chiropractor after his father was greatly helped following a severe car accident. Prior to pursuing his chiropractic training, Peter was a British and English National champion sailor, and won both the nations cup, and was the winning helmsman for his class in the yachting Fastnet Race.
Using his knowledge of high level sports, Peter has provided Chiropractic care to many World Champion and International sports stars including premiership footballers, International and Olympic sports teams, superbike champions and in 2007 joined Cindy in working with the WWE wrestling tour.
Dr. Rebecca Shield – Doctor of Chiropractic
After graduating from the Anglo-European Chiropractic College with merit Rebecca has gone on to become interested in paediatric studies and Dry needling amongst other soft tissue therapies. She loves any opportunity to share the wonders of chiropractic with the community and has experience of treating teams of up and coming rowers and hockey players.
Rebecca grew up in Durham as part of a family of 5 that were really passionate about health, vitality and personal development. She began seeing the life changing effects of chiropractic care alongside her parents and sisters, and gets regular adjustments to keep her on top form.
After she graduated she knew that she’d love to work in a friendly and family orientated clinic, getting people back on the road to feeling great and enjoying those things that make their life amazing. She believes you’re never too old or too young to start living life to its fullest!
Dr. Anna Garstin – Doctor of Chiropractic
Anna graduated from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in 2004 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Sciences and a Master’s Degree in Chiropractic. She also has a Diploma in Chiropractic Clinical Paediatrics.
Anna was first introduced to chiropractic at the age of 21 when she suffered a sudden attack of lower back pain. After several days incapacitated, she managed to get herself to a chiropractor in her home city of Stockholm. Fascinated by the drug-free and holistic approach, and impressed by the effectiveness of the treatment, she decided to train as a chiropractor.
Following her 5-year course, she has worked in Farnham in Surrey, Warwick, Rugby and Hinckley, Leamington Spa and Kenilworth where she developed her skills further. Her extra qualifications in the care of pregnant women and children enable her to help mothers-to-be to have the best experience in pregnancy and their little ones to get the best start in life.
Anna is registered with the General Chiropractic Council.
Dr. David Dickins – Doctor of Chiropractic
David qualified from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic having gained a Distinction grade in Masters of Chiropractic as well as receiving two awards including Graduate of the year. David has also gained further qualifications in Dry needling (acupuncture), sports taping and other soft tissue therapies.
After being inspired by Dr. Peter Townsend from an early age due to his care for David’s family, he enjoys now being able to share the gift of chiropractic care at Kenilworth Chiropractic Clinic to allow people to remain healthy and achieve their body’s potential. He believes as a chiropractor that everyone can benefit from having their spine checked regularly irrespective of what their lifestyle is.
Jan Bilby – Practice Manager
Jan joined Kenilworth Chiropractic Clinic in September 2009, having previously worked for eight years as a coordinator at TNT / CEVA Logistics managing their head office reception.
Jan feels incredibly proud to be part of the Kenilworth Chiropractic Team and enjoys her role immensely. Having had chiropractic treatment over the past 20 years herself, she feels that it is so wonderful to now be part of a team helping so many people not only to be pain-free but to regain a better quality of life. Jan is a dedicated and caring member of the team and a loved and respected manager, always happy to go the extra mile and always with a smile.
Carolyn Eaves – Receptionist
Carolyn joined Kenilworth Chiropractic Clinic in February 2008 having previously worked as a student support assistant at City College, Coventry and before that as the administrator for Coventry Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre.
Jackie Gaunt – Receptionist
Jackie joined the team in 2010, having previously worked for a building company as an administrator. Jackie is a natural at making patients feel at home and well looked after, she has really grown in confidence since joining the team and loves the variety and rewarding nature of the role.
Sue Smith – Receptionist
Sue joined the Kenilworth Chiropractic Clinic team in 2010, after working as a receptionist/negotiator at a local estate agent for 12 years. Sue has found working at the practice to be an incredibly fulfilling and rewarding opportunity, she loves working with such a fun, friendly and committed group of people and is a valued member of the gang.
