Welcome to the latest edition of the Kenilworth Chiropractic Clinic Newsletter!
KCC and the World of Sports Chiropractic
For several years, the world of sports medicine has been advancing with a greater emphasis on performance enhancement and injury prevention, rather than just injury repair. As Chiropractic works to improve all aspects of human function, from balance and coordination, faster reflex times and strength, it is no surprise to see Chiropractors now working with virtually every major sporting team and event. With the likes of David Beckham and F1 2X World Champion Lewis Hamilton using Chiropractic care to keep them at the top, the demand for Chiropractic care in top flight sport has never been greater.
2015 is looking like another exciting year for sports chiropractic at Kenilworth Chiropractic Clinic. Peter is again working with the Coventry Blaze Elite ice hockey team for the third season, and Cindy, Rebecca, Pete and Tim have again been asked to provide support for Team Suzuki Heads and Threads motor cross team for their UK and arena championship season. With individual athletes experiencing wins on the world Triathlon stage, British boxing championship contenders and the 10thyear as the European tour Chiropractors for WWE wrestling tour, it may not be a quiet year, but it will be a privilege to work alongside such gifted athletes!
The clinic would also like to offer massive congratulations to Kenilworth local Sarah Jane Perry on winning the Squash Team World Championships this weekend. A massive and well deserved win for one of the world’s top ranked female players.
If you are a sportsman/athlete and looking to improve your performance, please make sure to let the team at KCC know, so we can include you in our bespoke performance programme and help get the results you deserve.
This month, Tim has written an interesting article about combatting the effects of hibernation, something we can all be guilty of as the days get colder and nights draw in. To read more click here.
Our charity focus for December is to support the food bank charities in Kenilworth. Rebecca is coordinating donations, so if you would like to drop any non-perishable items into the clinic, she will ensure that they get to the distribution centre. Thank you for helping us support our local community.

Now that the temperature is dropping, chilblains are beginning to pop up. Not so common as they used to be, now that we all tend to live in centrally heated houses, for some people they can still be a real problem. A great product we have found to help improve the circulation and ease the pain and itching is ‘Warm Your Sole’ by Body Essentials. Containing ginger, marjoram, geranium and lemon essential oils, not only does it relieve the discomfort but your feet smell great too! Available from the clinic for £8.50.
Extended Domicilary Service
From January, we are pleased to be able to offer an extended home visiting service for people who have trouble accessing the clinic. Kate Gorton will be taking on any new clients who would prefer to be seen at home. This means that she will no longer be in the clinic on a Monday morning, but can still be seen at her monthly Saturday clinics. If you, or someone you know, would like to avail of this service, please leave your details with Reception and Kate will be in touch to arrange an appointment.
Supporting Zoe’s Place
This year, we have pledged to donate £5 for every new client referral. We are delighted to announce that 60 clients have been referred to us from existing satisfied customers and so we shall be sending a cheque for £300 to this wonderful charity. A HUGE thank you to everyone who has sent a friend our way! www.zoes–place.org.uk/coventry

This month, I have written an article about the ancient art of cupping. Used to help loosen muscle tissue, promote healthy blood flow and more, read all about it here.
As an introductory offer to the cupping technique, all treatments booked by 31st January 2015 will be at the special rate of £30. Please quote ‘Newsletter’ at time of booking.

Our beliefs can both hinder and help us to achieve our goals. This is illustrated by the story of Cliff Young, a 61 year old Australian with no formal training, who beat the world record for running a ‘Mega-Marathon’ from Sydney to Melbourne. To read this article in full, please click here.
Paul offers hypnotherapeutic solutions at Kenilworth Chiropractic Clinic, every Tuesday, from 2pm – 7.30pm. Please call Reception to book your appointment.

Some of us at KCC are avid readers and thought we would recommend some of the books we have read and benefitted from. Here are our first two suggestions:
- “Well Adjusted Babies” by Jennifer Barham-Floreani ISBN 978-0-97-578600-0
This is known as “the new parenting bible” and offers cutting-edge information and holistic parenting advice ranging from improving fertility to breastfeeding and onto child development.
- Secondly, after recently attending a Chiropractic seminar and learning more about nutrition and healthy living, we found the book “Changing Habits, Changing Lives” by Cyndi O’Meara ISBN 978-0-14-300652-7 really helpful and inspirational.
If you decide to read one or other of our suggestions let us know what you thought!
All that remains is for us all to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year!
